Hi,

I will be visiting Ireland in June 2016 on a car tour and I plan to visit Dublin, Wicklow, Belfast, Galway, Cork and Killarney. I would prefer to eat Indian food. Are there any Indian restaurants in these cities?

Thank you!

Hi Sonia,
a friend recommended Ananda - located in Dundum (which is a suburb of Dublin and accessible by the Luas from Dublin city centre) - apparently it is a super restaurant.

Another restaurant, which received a great write-up in the Sunday Business Post is Chakra By Jaipur in Greystones, Co Wicklow (just south of Dublin).

Enjoy your trip!

HI Sonia,

The Spice Club and Safa and Nu Delhi in Belfast are recommended and my personal favourite outside of Limerick in Annacotty is Copper & Spice http://www.copperandspice.com/ . Those are my own recommendations. In Ireland you'll find that not all Indian restaurants offer sit down and a lot are for takeaway, so when you're searching, look for those details.  Also, Good Food Ireland, Restaurant Association as well as Bord Bia offer recommendations for great food all over Ireland.  www.goodfoodireland.ie , www.rai.ie are excellent resources for food and food experiences as well as our wonderful artisans. Enjoy  your trip!

Totally agree regarding Pickle. It's fantastic! Reservations a must as it's so popular. Centrally located on Camden Street and it offers a great choice of non-mainstream dishes. Really authentic Indian food. Service is great too and the chef visits each table - fantastic!
I also really love Ananda in Dundrum. It's more expensive and fine dining - but it's really special. The menu is just brilliant. Again, really authentic. My favourite restaurant in Dublin!
There are a few really good take away restaurants that will deliver to your hotel - Bombay Pantry is great and super popular, it features more mainstream Indian dishes.
Also like Daata Tandoori in Bray, Co Wicklow. Why not head out on the DART (light rail) from Dublin city centre and enjoy a meal there followed by a lovely walk on the seafront promenade. Or if you are feeling energetic you could do the lovely seacliff walk from Bray to Greystones! It only takes about an hour and the views are majestic - well worth it.
I hope this helps! Have a great time :-)
