Hello Marie Laure,

It's so exciting to start planning a trip!

If you have a look at our trip ideas, you can find some wonderful plans.

In this same forum you can also find some suggestions from other travelers and local people.

Some of the most scenic road trip around the island are Ireland's Ancient East, The Causeway Coastal Route and the Wild Atlantic Way.

Hope this helps!

Un saludo.

Marta ☘️

Hi Marie,
I am delighted to learn that you are planning a motor-cycle trip in Ireland next year. I want to encourage you to drive the Causeway Coastal Route as Marta suggested.  This famous road is stunningly beautiful.  It hugs the coast from Belfast, all the way to Derry-Londonderry, linking quaint sea-side villages and towns, deep river valleys, ruined castles, rugged cliffs, beautiful sandy beaches and much more.
Central in The Causeway Coastal Route lies The Giant’s Causeway with its amazing hexagonal stones and columns, backed on land by sculpted cliffs and headlands, with views inland, along the coast and towards Donegal, and on a clear day over to Scotland. Nearby are Carrick-a rede Rope Bridge and Dunluce Castle.  See a summary of attractions along the route by clicking on the following link.  https://www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/CCRMap-Spanish.pdf
As a motor-cyclist, you might be interested in attraction 15 on the map above, namely The Joey and Robert Dunlop Memorial Gardens in Ballymoney.  Motor-bikes and road racing are in the blood of this local family, with the next generation Michael and William Dunlop continuing where their father Robert left off.   You could also ride the triangular route of the famous North West 200 motor-cycle race linking Portstewart, Coleraine and Portrush.  This race has been running since 1929, so next May will see it celebrate 90 years since its beginning!
I hope this will help inspire you as you make your plans.  If you need help with accommodation or if you have other questions about this area, please feel free to get in touch with us in Coleraine Visitor Information Centre.
All the best,
Mary.
