HMS Caroline in Belfast

Have you heard of the HMS Caroline in Belfast? 
This piece of history is one of the 5 only surviving boat from WW1 in the world. 😲



When you step on board you travel back in history. Learning more about its role during both great wars - there is even interactive games!





I really enjoyed the visit. The HMS Caroline is one of those Gems that you may not think of visiting but if I were you, I will add it to your bucket list! 😉

Oh, la visita all’HMS (Her Majesty’s Ship per chi fosse curioso come me su cosa vuol dire) Caroline è stata una piacevolissima sorpresa!
Molto interessante scoprire il ruolo di questa nave in entrambe le guerre mondiali, con il video proiettato su una delle pareti della stiva. 



La parte che mi ha colpito di più è stato scoprire come i componenti del suo equipaggio vivevano ben organizzati.



La passeggiata all'esterno è stata resa ancora più piacevole dalla bella giornata di sole ☀️

HMS Caroline is a real hidden gem when in and around the Belfast docks area. Just a 10-minute walk from the Titanic Experience or a ride on the Glider from the city centre, a super place for anyone interested in Naval history from WW1.





Each part of the ship has been faithfully restored from the Captain's private accommodations to the normal Seamans mess room. Why not take a cup of tea where these brave men once sat too!



There are regular special events a great place for young and old and well worth the time.

Was für ein unvergessliches Erlebnis auf der HMS Caroline! Es war, als würde man in eine fast vergessende Zeit eintauchen. 
Die Ausstellung im Museum bietet einen historischen Überblick und liegt direkt neben des einzigartigen Schiffs: 


Vom Maschinenraum bis zum Deck der HMS Caroline kann man alles erkunden. Sogar das Menü der Passagiere wurde nachgestellt, um einen Eindruck vom Alltag der Seeleute zu erhalten:

Natürlich wird auch von der Schlacht im Trafalgar berichtet, ein spannendes nachgestelltes Schauspiel, das an der Schiffswand projektiert ist, und einem den Atem raubt.
Wer hätte außerdem gedacht, dass Kriegsschiffe mit lustigen Mustern und Farben bemalt wurden? Der Grund liegt in der optischen Täuschung des Gegners. Somit konnte nicht nur die Geschwindigkeit, sondern auch die Richtung, in der das Schiff fährt, falsch vom Gegner vermutet werden. 

Alles in einem eine sagenhafte Erfahrung, die für große und kleine Entdecker weiterzuempfehlen ist!

Podría decirse que el HMS Caroline es un pequeño gran desconocido todavía en la ciudad de Belfast, pero este crucero ligero tiene más de 100 años y se precia de ser el único superviviente de la Batalla naval de Jutlandia que tuvo lugar en 1916. 



Ubicado en el muelle Alexandra dentro del famoso Titanic Quarter, la visita merece realmente la pena si quieres comprobar cómo era el día a día a bordo de este navío:







Y lo mejor de todo es que, una vez adquieres tu entrada, puedes visitar el HMS Caroline tantas veces como quieras durante los próximos 12 meses. ¡Bievenidos a bordo!

Es increíble poder visitar un buque con tanta historia y descubrir cómo era la vida en un lugar con tan poco espacio.



Se ha conservado muy bien la ambientación del barco y se pueden apreciar muy bien las diferencias entre los camarotes de los oficiales y los de los marineros rasos.



Incluso en la cocina, se ha recreado una comida con la vajilla de la época, acercando al visitante aún más a la vida diaria.
