Hi!

I‘m from Germany and I got mixed vaccination, 1st dose AstraZeneca and 2nd dose Biontech.
I can proof my vaccination with the digital EU COVID certificate.
Is this accepted as a full vaccination in Ireland too?

Thank you!
Janine

Hi Janine,

Thanks for reaching out to us on our Community page!
Yes, the  AstraZeneca and the Pfizer-BioNtech are both vaccines approved by the EMA. You can find more information about it here
Are you planning a trip to visit Ireland? 😊 You can also write in German language if you prefer!

Liebe Grüße,
Cindy ☘️

Hallo Cindy,

Viele Grüße ☀️
Rebecca

Is there anywhere it officially confirms which mixed vaccination combinations are accepted as "fully vaccinated" status for entry from outside the EU?

For example: is 1st dose Pfizer with 2nd does Moderna accepted?

I'd have to be really sure before even considering travelling, since quarantine and multiple PCR tests are not an option.

In this press release, it doesn't mention anything about the acceptability of mixed vaccinations:
https://www.tourismireland.com/Press-Releases/2020/March/COVID-19-coronavirus

In the "What does fully vaccinated mean?" section of the following page, it lists both Pfizer and Modern separately as acceptable, but does not mention anything about a mix of vaccines being accepted:
https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/travel_and_recreation/travel_to_ireland/travel_to_ireland_during_covid.html

There needs to be something official or else the uncertainty is too high to attempt travel.

Hi Tom,

Although both the Pfizer-BioNtech and Moderna vaccines are approved in regard to entry requirements in the Republic of Ireland, I'm afraid that the government has not yet published official advice on the matter of mixed vaccines. The situation is evolving periodically and we recommend for you to always keep up to date with the official government website.

As Janine has shared with us above, the Irish embassy in Germany advised her that mixed vaccines are not currently accepted for entry requirements in Ireland. I recommend for you to also get in touch with your local embassy to obtain confirmation from the authorities.

We understand it can be difficult to find all the information you need in these uncertain times, but we are here for you and do our best to help you.

We look forward to welcoming you on our island when the time is right! 😊🤞

Best wishes
Rebecca ☘️

Hi everyone,

Good news! :)

It has been confirmed that mixed vaccinations are accepted as valid proof of vaccination in the Republic of Ireland, and you can find more information on the official government page

I hope this is helpful, and please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything else you'd like to know.
