Mixed Vaccination

Hi!

I‘m from Germany and I got mixed vaccination, 1st dose AstraZeneca and 2nd dose Biontech.
I can proof my vaccination with the digital EU COVID certificate.
Is this accepted as a full vaccination in Ireland too?

vielen Dank für deine schnelle Antwort.
In der Zwischenzeit habe ich auch eine Antwort auf meine Anfrage von der irischen Botschaft in Berlin bekommen. Leider wurde mir dort mitgeteilt, dass eine Kreuzimpfung in Irland nicht anerkannt wird und ich nur mit einem negativen PCR Test einreisen darf.
Wir wollten eigentlich Ende August für 2 Wochen durch Irland reisen.

wir entschuldigen uns für die Verwirrung! Obwohl beide Impfstoffe in Irland anerkannt sind, hat die irische Regierung leider bisher keine Informationen dazu veröffentlicht, was im Falle einer gemischten Impfung gilt. Die Situation entwickelt sich fortwährend und wir empfehlen dir, dich über die offizielle Webseite der irischen Regierung auf dem Laufenden zu halten. ✅

Wir sind froh, dass du weitere Informationen von der irischen Botschaft erhalten hast und dankbar, dass du uns diese hier mitgeteilt hast! Dies wird für andere Reisende sicherlich sehr hilfreich sein. 💚

Wir hoffen, dass du unsere Insel dennoch besuchen kannst! Auch ohne anerkannte Impfung kannst du mittels EU Digital Covid Certificate (DCC) in Irland einreisen. Wie dir auch die Botschaft mitgeteilt hat, müsstest du das negative Ergebnis eines RT-PCR-Tests nachweisen können. Dies wäre mithilfe des DCC möglich. Der Test muss innerhalb von 72 Stunden vor der Ankunft in Irland durchgeführt werden. Nach derzeitigem Stand sind dann keine weiteren reisebedingten Tests oder Quarantäne nötig. Denk auch daran, dass du vor Abreise die Passenger Locator Form ausfüllen musst.

Zu beachten wäre bei euren Reiseplänen allerdings, dass die Innengastronomie derzeit nur für vollständig geimpfte Personen zugänglich ist. Details dazu kannst du hier lesen.

Is there anywhere it officially confirms which mixed vaccination combinations are accepted as "fully vaccinated" status for entry from outside the EU?

For example: is 1st dose Pfizer with 2nd does Moderna accepted?

I'd have to be really sure before even considering travelling, since quarantine and multiple PCR tests are not an option.

In this press release, it doesn't mention anything about the acceptability of mixed vaccinations:

In the "What does fully vaccinated mean?" section of the following page, it lists both Pfizer and Modern separately as acceptable, but does not mention anything about a mix of vaccines being accepted:

There needs to be something official or else the uncertainty is too high to attempt travel.

Although both the Pfizer-BioNtech and Moderna vaccines are approved in regard to entry requirements in the Republic of Ireland, I'm afraid that the government has not yet published official advice on the matter of mixed vaccines. The situation is evolving periodically and we recommend for you to always keep up to date with the official government website.

As Janine has shared with us above, the Irish embassy in Germany advised her that mixed vaccines are not currently accepted for entry requirements in Ireland. I recommend for you to also get in touch with your local embassy to obtain confirmation from the authorities.

We understand it can be difficult to find all the information you need in these uncertain times, but we are here for you and do our best to help you.
