When is high season? Why is it high season? Weather or just heavy travel season? When is the best weather to visit east and southern Ireland?

Hi Diane,

March is a great time to visit Ireland, there are festivals for St. Patrick's Day (17th March) lots of places around the country and there will be a parade in every village and town on the day itself. Ashford Castle and the Quiet Man country is in the West of Ireland, there are lots of places to stay around there and it's beautiful countryside. If you are going to the South West and East, you could do a couple of nights in each place and work your way around the country that way.
You can find information about St Patrick's Day festivals on www.stpatricksday.ie
Have a great time !
Sandra.

Hi Diane,

As mentioned by my industry colleague Sandra, March is a great time to visit Ireland as you'll get to experience the buzz of St. Patrick's Day and the various celebrations and parade's around the country. By attending a parade wherever you are you'll for sure get your wish to meet with the people of Ireland but also you'll be able to see the rich diversity of other visitors to our shores during this great celebration.
Christoph has given you some great links in the above post but if you're interested in further exploration of Ireland on the silver screen you can read another forum post here - https://community.ireland.com/1016/Ireland-and-Cinema-Great-Sites-to-See-In-Person

If that peaks your interest and you decide to explore, let us know as we have 54 stunning hotels around the country which include castle & country houses for you to stay in. In fact the recent film "The Lobster" starring Colin Farrell was filmed in one of our Manor Houses - Parknasilla Resort & Spa in Sneem, Co. Kerry.

We look forward to welcoming you to Ireland. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you wish to check out hotel dates & itineraries - reservations@manorhousehotels.com
