Hi,

Stephen here from Eloping in Ireland (destination wedding planner in Ireland). Planning a wedding and getting legally married in Ireland is a relatively easy process. There is a minimum notice requirement of 3 months by which time all your paperwork needs to be submitted to the Registrar of Marriages in Ireland. This can be done remotely (post & e-mail) so ye will not have to travel to Ireland for this.

Ye will then have to meet the Registrar in Ireland a few days before your wedding to finalize the paperwork. Allow up to 5 working days (Monday-Friday) for this. The exact date and time of this meeting will be confirmed months in advance. Many of our couples wait until they know this information before booking their flights & accommodation.

Check out our very useful 'Getting Married in Ireland - Legal & Paperwork' guide here. If you would like to chat with one of our wedding planning experts feel free to contact us directly via email.

Regards,

Stephen
