Tours are always better in the company of a guide… and when it comes to Ireland, they’re not only better, they’re great. But quirky – or should we say, more unusual – ones also stand out from the crowd, so here are a few to get you started…

Starting in Northern Ireland’s capital city, a Black Taxi Tour around Belfast is fascinating. The warm and witty guides level their chat to how much or how little you already know about Belfast, so your tour is tailormade just for you, while they whizz through the city streets, talking tumultuous history, wonderful present and future.

After that, you might like a little forage around the Butterlope family farm in the beautiful Sperrin Mountains. Organised by Slow Adventure Northern Ireland, your expert guides will help you unearth – and dine out on – the best that the season has to offer!

Down along the Wild Atlantic Way next with Atlantic Sea Kayaking, and its nighttime kayaking tours across the glowing bioluminescent waters of Lough Hyne in County Cork.

While up in Dublin, explore the origins of the Hellfire Club, whose members dabbled in black magic and hear stories of lingering spirits and condemned witches with Hidden Dublin Tours.

There’s probably plenty more unique and quirky tours around the island – would any of our other community members like to share their suggestions?

Hello,

The Causeway Coast and Glens offers tourists a great variety of guided tours ranging from Game of Thrones film locations by coach, to hiking along the cliff top at the Giant's Causeway for an impressive bird's-eye view of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, to exploring the Causeway Coast and Glens on a delicious Foodie Tour.  There are a variety of boat trips going out of Portrush, Portstewart and Ballycastle harbours that will take you out onto the Atlantic Ocean.  Some to search for dolphins or basking sharks, others to Rathlin Island or others to do some fishing for your breakfast, which you then can come back to cook and enjoy.  Each will showcase the stunning coastline from a seaward perspective.  If you are feeling adventurous you could go coasteering with a guided group.  This involves putting on a wetsuit and using the coastline as an adventure playground.  It gives the opportunity to clamber over rocks, jump into the sea off the rocks and swim in the ocean to explore beautiful shallow limestone caves and coastal features.

All of these tours, along with plenty of other options, are available to research at your leisure on our web site: www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com

We hope you will consider a trip to the Causeway Coast and Glens!
Anne
