Hello !

I'm a French student and I'm planning my trip in Ireland using bus Eireann. On their website, student fares are available if we have the ISIC (international student identity card) delivered by USIT. But I don't understand what USIT is. Is the ISIC delivered by isic.org (the true ISIC) okay to get student fares in Ireland in general and particularly in Irish buses (Eireann and maybe Citylink) (my French guide book seems to say so...) ? It would be easier for me to buy it with isic.org as there an office in France.

Thank you for your answers !

Hello Mathilde!

I totally understand the confusion! USIT is an Irish organisation that provides discounted travels services to students, hence why Bus Eireann mention it as the place to purchase the card - but that is for Irish students. You can get yours from a French website, or isic.org like you were planning to, the card will be equally valid.

Apart from students fares, have you thought about the Open Road Travel Pass? Depending on how much you intend to use Bus Eireann buses around the island, it could result in a better value!

You can also have a look at our article on bus travel, you may find some useful info there.

Do you already know which places you want to visit? If you let us know, we'll definitely give you some pointers for all the unmissable things to see and do!

Have a lovely rest of the day!

Hi there I know how confusing this is for you.  If this helps attached is info on our collaboration with Bus Eireann where you can use their bus route 350 between Galway and Ennis to book a boat trip with us and enjoy either 1 hour Cliffs of Moher boat cruise or return trip to the Aran Island of Inis Oirr.

Hello !

Thank you for your answers !
