Please help find my great granddad's burial site
My granddad who is 86 years old is desperately trying to find out where is father is buried.
Just a little bit of background.
When my granddad's mother (Mary Cullen (maiden name) was pregnant with my granddad, her husband William Brown (granddad's father) died, this was in 1933.
I know this as that is the year my granddad was born. He never met his father. Granddad was the youngest of 5. He had 4 older sisters. His mother married again to a Radford. She had 4 more children.
When granddad was 9 his mother Mary Cullen/ Radford died. All the children were sent to homes or orphanages. Granddad never knew anything about his father. He didn't see his sisters, but he knows they were sent to England.
Granddad's father WILLIAM BROWN married his mother MARY CULLEN on the 12th of JAN 1927 in CLONGEEN Wexford. (I have the marriage cert)
I have looked up census the 1901 and 1911. I think I have found my great great grandfather (William Brown's dad), but I cant be 100%.
Can anyone please help me. I can't find any record of where my great granddad's burial was. Can anyone please put me in the right direction. We don't know how long granddad will be around for, like I said he is 86..

Thanks so much

Tanya Brown

Hi Tanya,

What an amazing family story - thanks for sharing it.

You've come to the right place for help with your search.  Our forum members are super helpful and very knowledgeable.

To get you started, I'd like to suggest you have a look at this surnames search for details. https://goo.gl/36N6UN Before 1864 records were kept in the form of church and parish records; while some of these have regrettably been lost over the years, all the surviving records have been sorted into county-based genealogical centres. https://goo.gl/mxUMA In 1864 civil registration was introduced in Ireland, which is when we started seeing the formal registration of births, marriages, adoptions and deaths. These records have been kept at the General Register Office of Ireland(GRO), to this day. https://goo.gl/AlAk4u

Community - can you offer some further assistance? Any information from Wexford, or general knowledge you can share?

Best wishes to you, Tanya.
