De Dublín hasta Derry~Londonderry

Hola a todos, 
Descubrí la maravillosa isla de Irlanda hace 12 años y desde el primer día que llegué me sentí una irlandesa más. He ido varias veces desde entonces pero ahora quiero cumplir mi sueño. Quiero recorrer diferentes zonas de la isla con tranquilidad para poder disfrutar de los pueblecitos, del paisaje, de su comida, de esas ricas pintas locales, de la tranquilidad, de sus gentes. Y necesito vuestra ayuda. 
Será en verano, desde mediados de julio a mediados de agosto. Y creo que podré ir con alguna amiga.
Mi idea es combinar estancias en ciudades con recorridos por zonas próximas pero... y ahí viene el problema, prefiero hacerlo en transporte público o en circuitos organizados.
*Desde Dublin ir hacia el norte con el DART hasta Howth para hacer una ruta a pie por la costa y hacia el sur para conocer Dalkey, Bray y quizás Greystone.
*Visitar Belfast y desde allí recorrer la costa hasta llegar a Derry~Londonderry, haciendo noche en diferentes lugares. La propuesta que hay en esta web me gustaría mucho pero no sé cómo poder organizarla en transporte público.

*Después iría a Galway. Cómo se puede llegar desde Derry? Visitaría la ciudad y desde allí, cómo podría ir hasta Cliffs of Moher? Y también ir a las Aran Islands.
De todas formas estoy abierta a vuestras recomendaciones y espero vuestras propuestas.

Ireland has an excellent bus network that serves the entire country - Bus Éireann, Dublin Bus, Dublin Dart and Luas and Ulsterbus. You will be able to get a direct bus from Derry to Galway, no problem. Your B&B host will be able to advise you on what buses you will need to take to get to your next destination. There is a ferry service to the Aran Islands. Don't be concerned as your B&B hosts will be able to guide you.

¡Qué bien que una apasionada de Irlanda como tú haya llegado a nuestro foro! Tu plan de descubrir nuestra isla a tu ritmo y en transporte público suena genial, ¡a ver si entre todos conseguimos montar este viaje para que sea inolvidable!

Como ya te han comentado arriba, Irlanda dispone de una red de transporte público muy eficaz, así que no tendrás inconveniente en moverte de un lugar a otro. Además, existe la posibilidad de adquirir bonos de transporte tanto en la República de Irlanda como en Irlanda del Norte, para que ahorres sobre el precio de los billetes, aquí encontrarás más información.

Para conocer Dublín y sus alrededores, puedes utilizar el tren DART, que te llevará a descubrir las aldeas costeras que has mencionado. Dublín, además tiene la ventaja de ser una buena base para contratar excursiones guiadas para visitar las atracciones principales de la isla. Irlanda en Español y Ole Irlanda Tours, por ejemplo, ofrecen este tipo de tours en lengua española.

Desde Dublín a Belfast, puedes viajar cómodamente en bus, y, desde allí desplazarte con los autobuses de Translink, la compañía que cubre los trayectos en Irlanda del Norte. 

Para organizar tus visitas a lo largo de la Ruta Costera de la Calzada en transporte público, puedes consultar este artículo a ello dedicado y también echar un vistazo e este hilo de nuestro foro con mucha información de primera mano de quien ya ha hecho esta experiencia. 

Desde Derry-Londonderry hasta Galway, puedes coger el bus Expressway Route 64 y disfrutar de los maravillosos paisajes de esta parte de la isla. Una vez en Galway, hay la opción de contratar una excursión guiada que te lleve a conocer los famosos acantilados de Moher y las Islas Aran en el día. 

En cuanto al alojamiento, con este cómodo buscador y utilizando la función mapa, puedes ir encontrando el lugar donde quedarte según vayas programando tu itinerario.

Hi Feli,
To help you further in planning your trip, perhaps as a local person, I can offer some advice about getting from Belfast to Derry/Londonderry.

Either get the 256 bus to Larne from the Europa Bus Centre in Belfast or get the train from Belfast; the train stops at several stations in the city.   Both take about an hour.

At Larne take the Antrim Coaster bus – the 252 – to Ballycastle.  This bus only runs during July and August which suits you.  Just be aware that it does not run on Sundays nor on 12th and 13th July which are public holidays.  It hugs the coastline and lets you enjoy the famous coast road.

Ballycastle is a lively sea-side town if you wanted to break your journey there.  The next bus to take would be the 402 from the Marine Hotel Corner. It again hugs the coast finishing in the town of Coleraine.  (The 172 bus from the same stop has the same route as far as Bushmills, after which it goes by an inland route to Coleraine.)  It is possible to get a Causeway Rambler ticket (valid on either bus) and for a set amount of money (about £8) you can get on and off the bus as many times as you like on one day.  This makes it possible to stop and visit, for example, Carrick-a-rede rope bridge and, of course, the remarkable Giant’s Causeway.  For both of these, advance online booking is recommended in the high season.   

The best way for the final leg of your journey to Derry is by train from Coleraine.  This is a very frequent and also a very scenic route. Hola de nuevo,
He estado echando un vistazo a lo que me habéis explicado y tengo una duda. No sé en qué lugares sería mejor pasar una noche para ir haciendo el trayecto y poder ver:
-The Gobbins Cliff Path
-Carrick-a-rede bridge
-Giant's Causeway
-Dunluce Castle
-y no sé si hay algo más que no debería perderme...

*2-3 noches en Belfast
*3-4 noches por el recorrido: posibilidades? Bushmills, Ballycastle, Castlerock, Coleraine
*2-3 noches en Derry

*Galway: será la última parte que prepare para poder visitar Cliffs of Moher y Aran Island

¡Vemos que tu itinerario va cogiendo forma!

Ya que los lugares que mencionas se encuentran en la Ruta Costera de la Calzada, cualquier localidad en el camino puede servirte para hacer noche, hay numerosos B&B en el camino, por lo que no tendrás problemas.

Dado que la mayoría de esas atracciones es recomendable reservar la visita con antelación (puedes hacerlo online), puedes ir calculando también el tiempo que quieres pasar en la carretera antes de elegir el lugar donde pernoctar.

Si tienes tiempo, muy cerca del puente de Carrick-a-rede se encuentra un pueblo llamado Ballintoy, que tiene un precioso puerto al que se llega descendiendo por una serpenteante carretera. 

Y ya que vas a comenzar tu visita en Belfast, puedes echarle un vistazo a este itinerario y coger ideas para tu viaje.

Great to see your plans taking shape, and obviously spending three nights along the Causeway Coastal Route allows you time to appreciate its attractions.

It would be great to visit the Gobbins – such an interesting walk on the seaward side of the cliff.  It’s easiest to get there by car, but it is possible by public transport.  Take the train towards Larne and get off at Ballycarry Station.  From there you need to walk about a mile or so.  There is a footpath all the way and you can follow the signs for The Gobbins Visitor Centre.  I suggest starting early in the day rather than after lunch, and make sure you have booked the Gobbins in advance.  [They are already taking bookings for the summer.]  You will need to co-ordinate your trains and the 252 bus from Larne, in order to stay overnight in Ballycastle as suggested earlier. 

Bushmills would be a great place to spend your next night as you suggest, having visited The Rope Bridge and The Giant’s Causeway.  Ballintoy Harbour would be a must if you are a Game of Thrones fan!

The following day you could visit the Distillery or head straight to Dunluce Castle.  From there you could make your way to Castlerock where you could spend your third night.  Be sure to take the time to walk along an Irish beach and enjoy the waves and an ice cream and just being on holiday.  For example, you could get off the bus at The White Rocks and walk along the beach to Portrush, before resuming your journey.  Or go over to Portstewart and walk along the sea front and cliff walk to its strand. 

You can access Downhill Demesne and the Mussenden Temple on foot from Castlerock.  I would encourage you to enjoy the fabulous views from this cliff-top setting, before getting on the train to continue your journey to Derry.
