Hi Stuart,

The Wild Atlantic Way is a popular place to visit in a motorhome!

The majority of roads are accessible in a motorhome of this size, some may be a little tight especially if you find someone coming the other way, but generally, they are wide enough for a fire engine.

There are some existing threads on motorhomes that you may wish to have a look at. The one on wild camping has some lovely suggestions on where to stay and find information. While wild camping is not legal in most locations, there are plenty of official campsites available all over the island of Ireland. Please take a look at our approved accommodation search page, I have already selected Caravan and Camping to get you started, please enter the destination using the drop-down menu.

When are you thinking of coming over to visit?

Martin

Thanks very much that information will be very useful.

Not sure when we would be likely to set off, but I’m certain it will not be until restrictions have eased greatly, maybe later next year, this is starting out as a wet weather planning project at the moment.

Is there a preferable time of year?

Hi Stuart,

It's great that you've started planning this early, as you'll have lots of time to prepare!

The best time of year to visit depends on your own preferences really. :) We've got a pretty mild climate, but the Wild Atlantic Way definitely earned its name, so sometimes you get all four seasons in one day. There are caravan and motorhome parks that are open all year round, and you can read more about what to expect from every season here

Is there anything, in particular, you had in mind?
