Hi Peter,
We are very happy to hear about your plans for visiting this September! 😊
Are you going to travel from the UK?
It is true that no travel-related testing or quarantine is necessary for
travellers from Great Britain to the Republic of Ireland with valid proof of full vaccination. This is provided that an emergency brake has not been applied.
Should you travel from within the Common Travel Area (CTA) and stay overnight in Northern Ireland, you should take a rapid lateral flow device test (LFD) before you begin your journey. You should only travel if the test is negative and take additional LFD tests on days two and eight of your stay. You also don’t need to fill in a Passenger Locator Form if you travel from within the CTA and have not been outside the CTA in the last 10 days. This advice can be found on the
website of the Northern Irish Government.
However, as you know, for travel to the Republic of Ireland, you are indeed required to fill out a Passenger Locator Form before departure. The form requires for you to state the address where you will actually be staying during your visit in Ireland. If you are staying at a campsite, you should enter this address and update any changes by sending an email to
passengerlocatorform@plf.ie We recommend for you to keep proof of this email.
Please note that the
Irish Government website states, that it is an offence not to provide an update if any information provided on the form change, or to provide false or misleading information. Therefore, we do not recommend for you to use an Irish person’s address unless you will be staying there.
Please keep in mind that the situation is evolving periodically, and we encourage you to always stay up to date with the most recent guidelines on the government websites and
our traveller health page.
We wish you a great holiday and hope to hear about your experience when you return! ☘️
Best regards,
Rebecca
