Hi,  my wife and I will be spending a few days in Dublin, then have to get to Doolin on 21 June for our niece's wedding.  We won't have a car.  What's the best way to get from Dublin to Doolin?   Thank you, Cliff

Hi Cliff,

It's good to hear you'll be spending time in Ireland with your wife in June. I hope you'll enjoy the wedding.

Getting from Dublin to Doolin is quite straightforward by public bus. The Transport for Ireland website is a good resource; as you'll see, you can get a bus from Dublin to Galway and then from Galway to Doolin. The total length of the journey is around 4 hours and 30 minutes to 5 hours.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Eoin

Thanks so much!  Do I need to make reservations, or will we be able to just pay when we are ready to go?

Hi Cliff!

It's always a good idea to book in advance, since you'll be traveling in June.

You can sometimes pay on the day, but booking online will guarantee your seats, especially for the longer leg between Dublin and Galway.
You can check out websites like Bus Éireann or Citylink for schedules and bookings.
For the Galway to Doolin stretch, check out Bus Éireann Route 350, which connects Galway to the Cliffs of Moher and passes through Doolin.

Check out our public transport page for all the other information on transport in Ireland and useful links.

Enjoy the wedding and the stunning views out west! 💚
