Hi we are thinking of coming to Ireland the end of April and flying into Knock then travelling by bus to Westport and stay for a few days . Then bus/train to Galway for a couple of nights and 1 night at the Aran Islands. Then flying from Shannon. I am struggling to with out the tines of buses from Knock airport to Westport if anyone can advise. Is the very beginning of May a good time to visit the Aran islands with the weather and ferry crossings.
Many Thanks Claire

Hi Claire , We ' re so happy to hear you ' re planning a trip to Ireland this year ! There is a Bus Éireann bus route (No. 440) that connects Knock Airport ( Ireland West Airport ) to Westport , with several departures throughout the day and a direct route with no changes . Services run regularly throughout the day , with the first departure around 8 : 30am and buses running until the evening around 8 pm . You can purchase tickets in advance on the Bus Éireann website if you wish to secure your seats .& nbsp ; In addition , to plan your journeys during your trip , you can use the Journey Planner& nbsp ; to have all the information about departure times .& nbsp ; The beginning of May is an ideal time to visit the Aran Islands . The weather can be unpredictable ( as is often the case on the west coast ), but ferry crossings generally run smoothly in spring , with frequent services when the weather is calm . Don ' t hesitate to check out this article for more information on the Aran Islands .& nbsp ; Good luck with planning your trip , and don ' t hesitate to get in touch if you have any more questions !& nbsp ; Inès & nbsp ;
