Hi Lauryn,
When are you planning this trip to Ireland?
First and foremost, if you want to see the beautiful countryside that Ireland has to offer we would suggest doing the Wild Atlantic Way Route. This is a long route, so if you haven't already organised transport - I would suggest
renting a car.
The Wild Atlantic Way is 2500km long allowing you to fully explore West of Ireland, listed in Lonely Planet's book for the 50 best drives in the world. Visiting the Wild Atlantic Way is highly recommended, as it will also allow you to see some of the other famous highlights:
While in Galway we would also highly recommend doing the
Sky Road route in Clifden. Clifden is a charming little town nestled between the Twelve Bens mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean, at the mouth of Clifden Bay. The area is known for its rich landscape and heritage. Clifden has an impact on all who visit. During the summer when the sun is shining against all the colourful shops and there live music leaking out onto the street – there is nothing quite like it, it’s like being in a real-life fairy-tale. Clifden is one the few Gaeltacht areas in Connemara, Galway. This little town is as traditional as they come, the residence speaks Irish as a first language, but don't worry they are fluent in English too so you won't need a translator.
If you are looking for something traditional to do in
Dublin City, we would have to suggest the one and only Temple Bar. The famous Temple Bar is located in the city centre where you can enjoy the rich Irish culture from any of the bars where you can indulgence in a little Irish music, we know you will feel just at home.
We really hope you enjoy your time here in the Green Isle. We have added some useful links to suggested driving routes throughout the reply, we hope you find them useful.
Best Wishes,
All of here at
