Hello
We are planning a family trip to Dublin for a long weekend in June which might be extended to 1 week to drive around Eastern and maybe Atlantic coast.
There will be 3 generations traveling so we are looking for a pleasant 3/4 start hotel or bed & breakfast in central Dublin for the weekend..
We would appreciate a suggestions for thotel - we will have a 7-month baby along so a baby friendly hotel and the grandparents prefer to avoid stairs to their room.
A Dublin that does a nice breakfast to start the day would be great as we have 2 teenage boys in tow as well (age 13 &15).
Already got some ideas on this community to keep the teenagers engaged for the weekend..Thank you.

Best,
Nousheen

Hi Nousheen,

June can be a busy time so you are right to start having a look now for the perfect accommodation that will suit all the family.

We have a great searching tool on our website, Ireland.com. I am sure it will help you.
I have narrowed the search to only show accommodation in Dublin city with 3 stars or over. You can see the full search results here and edit as you please.

Glad that our Community helped you find great activities for your teen, it can be hard to keep them entertained sometime!
Let me know if they or yourself have particular interests, like sports or activities and we can make sure to check if there is anything that will please the whole family.

We also have many locals from and around Dublin. They will have loads of activity or restaurant to recommend to you. 😊

Hello Nousheen,
What a lovely family group to travel with...I am very biased but you must consider staying longer for 1 week at least and come and see us all here in Co Clare, under the iconic Cliffs of Moher and right in the epi-centre of the Wild Atlantic Way.
Your boys will love running and or cycling around the lovely Aran Island of Inis Oirr while the rest of the group and baby tour the island on a pony and trap with a local islander.  There's also a good playground in the shadow of O'Brien's castle here on the island where you can picnic while the boys burn off some more energy!
On the Burren there are so many activities to choose from...the boys can surf while you look on from the shore/cafe/restaurant in Lahinch.  This is a lovely town for the grand parents to potter around and a great centre of activity for the boys....and shops for you and good selection of places to eat and stay.
Kids go half price with me and Under 6s go FREE....just contact me if you have any other questions and enjoy your planning sales@doolinferry.com

Best wishes, Bill O Brien

Thank you for your quick replies, Elodie and Bill.
This is a fabulous website - we love the trip itineraries. I think we will definitely find something for everyone.
We have moved back to England’s after living 12 years in South East Asia. I think sure this will not be our first trip to Ireland.

Hi Nousheen,

You mention about possibly extending your weekend in Dublin by another week.  Have you thought about travelling up to Northern Ireland?  In particular, to visit The Giant’s Causeway?

This unique site in Ireland, with its 40,000 basalt columns, is truly fascinating for people of all ages.  It is also accessible to young and old alike as there is a bus which transports people between the Visitors’ Centre and “the Stones”.  Think of the great photo opportunities while there!  For the more energetic, it is possible to climb the Shepherd’s Path to the cliff top and complete a circular walk.

Not far from The Giant’s Causeway, on the Causeway Coastal Route, you come to Dunluce Castle.  This ruined castle on its rocky, exposed site, is also very accessible by all.  There are stunning views out to sea and along the coast from its “windows”.

Further west are the long sandy beaches at the Victorian sea-side towns of Portrush and Portstewart, so popular with families, enjoying the simple pleasures of time spent on the beach, making sand castles, eating ice cream and enjoying the waves.  (Surfing opportunities abound in this area.)  Make sure you take time to savour the delights of simply being three generations together in a beautiful place.

To find out more about the area click on http://www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com/

If you double click on places to stay, you will discover a search facility, which will help you see some of the accommodation on offer.

If we can be of further service to you, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

I wish you a very pleasant time in Ireland,

Mary.
