Help - we have had an apartment booked in Belfast city for several months now and have just been informed this morning that it has been sold and is no longer available! We are flying in from a couple of different locations around Scotland on the 15th March and are due to stay until the 19th March - has anyone got any ideas on alternative locations we may not have thought off?  There are 11 of us so we are really struggling now to find anything at all ?  Any ideas - no matter how small greatly received..

Hi Jennifer,

Is it Belfast you want to stay in, would Portrush be an alternative for you?

Kind Regards

Frances

Thanks for this - you have indeed 6 rooms available but the total cost is 2.3k which is a little over our budget unfortunately

Hi Jennifer,

So sorry to hear that your accommodation has become unavailable particularly at such a popular time of the year!

Thanks to our members, Clayton Hotel and Glenara Elite Travel for their suggestions so far.

We have an accommodation search page on our website that you may be able to use to find possible accommodations. Please have a look through the list and see if there is anywhere that you haven't already tried. It may be necessary to also try some of the larger Hotel chains to see if they have B&B options.

There are some apartment providers such as BT1 Apartments, and the Malone Lodge Hotel who may have availablity for the dates you will be with us.

As already suggested, would it be possible to try looking slightly outside of the city centre? Please use the search page to alter the destination to find possible alternative locations.

Will you have transport during your time with us?

Speak soon

Martin

Hi Jennifer,

It seems that CityPads may have apartments. You may have to book 2 or 3 flats but the rates seem reasonable.

I've never used them myself but thought it might be suitable for you.
Hope you find a solution soon.

Thank you so much for this - we won't have transport during our time (at the moment) but as we all know - things can change very quickly - I will look into all these straight away

Hi Jennifer,

I am so sorry you have been let down in this way.  It is disappointing and frustrating, as wellas leaving you with the responsibility of finding somewhere else.

May I offer you a suggestion. Why not base yourself on the beautiful Causeway Coast, which along with Belfast has been voted Best in Travel 2018 by Lonely Planet.

There are many self-catering properties in the area.  You could base yourselves in the conservation village of Bushmills, gateway to the famous Giant’s Causeway, or in Portstewart, well known for its beautiful 2 mile strand, and famed ice-cream parlours, cafes, pubs and restaurants.

If you are particularly interested in St. Patrick Day events there will be a parade, and an artisan market selling art, craft and local food produce in Ballycastle – another ideal base.  On St. Patrick’s Day evening at Downhill Demesne between 7pm and 9pm the iconic MussendenTemple, situated on the edge of the cliff, will be lit green – surely a raresight!  See https://www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com/whats-on-results/ for more details.

Please feel free to contact us in Coleraine Visitor Information Centre(028 7034 4723); we would be happy to help you find accommodation in the area.

I wish you a really special gathering in Northern Ireland over St.Patrick’s weekend.

Mary.
