Good morning,
Does anybody please know whether there's a footpath or series of footpaths linking from Rosslare to Cork? On the coast or within a stone's throw :)
Thanks,
Craig

Hello Craig,

Walking holidays are becoming very popular on the island of Ireland, and the south coast is a wonderful place to be!

Wonderful Ireland Walking Holidays specialise in walking holidays around the southern counties. Although the number of coastal routes are limited in some areas, there are certainly plenty of opportunities to walk the many trails in the area.

Another specialist in the walking holidays is Irish Ways Walking Holidays, County Wexford. They also offer walking tours so may be able to point you in the right direction.

Waterford Viking Triangle has a wonderful article on the Coastal Walking Trails featuring walks in Dunmore East, Tramore, and Ardmore.

In Cork itself, there is the Seven Heads Walk, a long trail broken up into more manageable sections and loop walks.

Hopefully, this has got you started on your walking adventures along the south coast, have you planned to stay for long?

Speak soon,

Martin

Hi Martin,
Thanks for your prompt response.
I'm not actually looking to book a walking holiday company.
I was in Cork last week and I love the city. I plan to return for four weeks in August.
Is there a coastal path from Rosslare to Cork?
Thanks,
Craig :)

Hi Craig,

Cork is indeed a super place to visit and I'm glad that you enjoyed yourself so much that you are coming back in August for four weeks!

While you are not looking for an organised tour, they are wonderful sources of information and have many routes and suggestions on their websites.

With regard to a coastal path from Rosslare to Cork, there isn't a complete path but several small and loop walks.

County Cork itself, as part of the Wild Atlantic Way, has plenty of coastal and slightly inland routes to keep you busy. We have a super search page of Cork Walks that will be a great place to start your plans. There are a couple of coastal walks, Seven Heads Walk as I mentioned before and Allihies Copper Mine Trail, a fantastic walk out along the Bear Peninsula.

I hope that this helps and I'm sure our community members would be happy to chip in and help with your planning also.

Martin
