Hello, Does anyone know how I can get up to this viewpoint on Murder Hole Beach? Is it easy to get on this hilltop and am I allowed to walk through the fields from the road?

Hi Thoe,
It is indeed possible to get to this spot on the edge of Murder Hole Beach or Boyeeghter Bay as it is also known.
Access is through a field or two which sometimes house cattle so please be aware of this. You will need to leave your car at the end of the road and take about 10 minutes to walk to the beach but the views are well worth the effort.
The whole peninsula is a great place to visit even if you don't make it to this beach, so plenty of opportunities for a photo or two!

Thanks a lot for your reply, Martin. Is this hill (viewpoint from the photo) also easy to access? or is it a difficult climb?

Hi Theo,
It's great that you want to explore this hidden gem! As Martin mentions above, the walk from the parking space is around 10 minutes, and the climb down to the actual beach (as seen on the picture) isn't difficult at all. :)
Remember that dogs aren't allowed in the field as there is cattle there, and it also mentions on the entrance gate that drones and photography for financial gain are prohibited.
Are you planning on visiting any other places in the area when you're in County Donegal? We're always here if you need more tips or suggestions, and keep us posted on your plans!

Thank you. I would like to go to the hill from which the photo is made, not the beach itself. Is that possible?

Hello again, Theo! :)
Yes, it is possible to get the same view as on the picture when you visit Murder Hole Beach. It's not a difficult climb, and you are allowed to be there as long as you keep to the aforementioned rules.
Me and the other members would love to see the pictures of your time here, so feel free to share! :)
