Dear,
This year I visited north Wales, taking the Brexit-tunnel :) from Calais to Folkestone.
A fantastic journey.
Walking the beautiful cliffs there, I thought, next year Ireland. I started to google and could not find a boat that would take my car and dog (It looked ok until you get to the page where your can select the quantity of dogs and at the end, sorry no ferry takes dogs?)
So I was hoping you could advice me, how I can get to Ireland with my car and taking my dog? Do you have any Idea.

Best regards,
Tom

Hi Tom,

Can I ask which ferry operator you were looking at? If you're looking to get a direct ferry to Ireland from Cherbourg, both companies servicing this route - Irish Ferries and Stena Line - should allow you to take your dog along with you. I'd recommend reaching out to them directly for detailed information if you're unable to make a booking bringing your dog along.

There's some practical information about bringing your furry friend to the island you might want to have a look at as well. They'll need a Pet Passport and a tapeworm treatment before travelling to Ireland.

I hope you'll be able to get it sorted, so the two of you can soon both enjoy a fresh Atlantic breeze on your faces. :)🐶 There's no shortage of cliffs around Ireland's coastline and there are some pet-friendly places all over.

Joris

P.S. You can write us in Dutch/French too, if you prefer! :)

Hi Tom,
there is also Brittany Ferries (https://www.brittanyferries.ie/) - they sail from Roscoff/ Brittany to Cork and take dogs.
