Hello Shefali,

November/December is a great time to visit as we enter our festive season!

There is currently a Taste the Ireland theme running highlighting the wonderful foods on the island of Ireland. While some will be over by the time you arrive, it will give you some ideas for what you may expect as you travel, and even give you some ideas on places to visit too.

As you will be arriving in Dublin, apart from what is available in the city, Ireland's Ancient East has a host of places to visit to satisfy your desire to sample the foods on offer. A drive up and down this section of the island will have you busy for your whole 8 days.

Not forgetting the Flavours of the Wild Atlantic Way or Ireland's Whiskey Trail which neatly knits the two areas together!

Then, of course, is the food wonders of Northern Ireland, as a journey of its own or a super way to complete your food experience with a combination of all there is to offer.

I hope this gives you lots of inspiration, and hopefully your fellow members and some industry partners will be able to add to this list!

Speak soon,
Martin

Hi Shefali,

Great to hear that you and your husband are travelling to Ireland soon!

I would like to tell you a little about the north coast of Ireland. it's a region known as The Causeway Coast and Glens and is located approximately 140 miles north of Dublin.  This is a beautiful area, with lots of beaches, forests, rivers and glens.  It also has attractions such as the Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle and Bushmills Distillery, the oldest licenced whiskey distillery in the world.  There are plenty of quaint seaside towns with good restaurants, dedicated to serving fresh local produce. During the month of October we have the Taste Causeway event, a celebration of food and drink throughout the area. Even though it will be over before you reach the shores of Ireland, the ethos around good food and customer experience continues.

There are several food tours on offer such as Taste of Ballycastle, Taste of Bushmills and Causeway Foodie Tours.   On these days out you get to try the local food and drink along with finding out about what you are eating along with the history and folklore of the area.  There are whiskey tasting tours to be had at the Bushmills Distillery and Lacada Beer, brewed in Portrush, is a popular tipple in these parts.

Should you happen to be in the area in the middle of November, there is a music festival called Atlantic Sessions taking place in the seaside towns of Portrush and Portstewart.

To find out more about the Causeway Coast and Glens and what it has to offer please take a look at our web site: www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com

Hope you have a memorable trip to Ireland!
Anne
