Martin,

Good day.  I will be arriving in Dublin on 11/11, and I have a couple questions.

Our trip is to visit areas we have strong interest in and to plan a more lengthy stay in your beautiful country. That being said, My questions:

Will I need a passport to obtain entry from the Republic of Ireland to Norther Ireland, then again to return?

We would like to talk to some folks, while were there, that might have accommodation for a two month stay, say perhaps a house that is available for short term lease. Is there such an entity that lists accommodations of that sort. Perhaps a website that you might be aware of or any recommendations as to how We might go about securing a property for the future?

Appreciate your help.

Dale

Dale,

So happy to hear that you are with us at the start of your Irish adventure!

There are no border checks once on the island of Ireland but we would recommend carrying your passport as a form of identity just in case it is needed.

We mostly deal with tourist short term accommodation information but that said, we have a self-catering section on our website that lists approved places to rent and we are sure they would be accommodating if you wanted a longer rental. Please feel free to have a look, there is a destination option to refine the search.

There are letting websites such as DAFT.ie and RENT.ie that you may wish to have a look at just to see if there are possible places in the longer term than just holiday lets. We have no direct contact with these sites, please feel free to have a look though, they may be able to help.

Please let us know how your time with us goes while you are here and maybe post a photo or two as you travel.

Martin

Hi Dale,

Firstly, welcome! I hope you have arrived safely on the Emerald Isle!

As Martin has suggested, self catering might be an option for a longer term rental and Coleraine Visitor Information Centre will be more than happy to help.  We are based in the Causeway Coast and Glens region and offer an accommodation booking service should you require help.

For more information please visit our website: https://www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com/.

Safe travels
