My wife and I have airline tickets to Dublin May 15 - 22, 2020. We would like to take a small-group guided tour to NW Ireland and/ or Northern Ireland (with accommodations), but we don't want to make reservations more than 2 weeks in advance, because of the corona virus. Is this possible? How??

Hi Joseph!

It's so exciting to hear that you're planning to pop by in May.

What I would suggest when planning for a last-second visit is reaching out to the tour groups you're interested in joining, to see what their policy and openings might be. They'd be best able to advise on this subject.

There are a number of tour groups available, especially in Dublin. They might have some options available to help with this issue.

There's also a wonderful accommodations finder you can you, which can make it simple to find a home away from home. I've set it to find spots in Dublin, but you can easily change the location, accommodation type, and star rating to narrow down exactly the kind of accommodations you'd like.

I hope that this helps! Please let me know if you need any more help, or would just like to chat about your upcoming adventure.

Kindly,
Rochelle

Hi Joseph,

It's lovely to hear that you and your wife are planning a visit to the island in May!

There are several tour options available if you decide to visit the Causeway Coast and Glens area.  Private tours can be arranged with providers so it can be tailored to your specific interests.  For more information on tour guides in the area, please see pages 92-93 of our Visitor Guide which can be found at the below link:
https://www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Causeway-Coast-Glens-Visitor-Guide-2020.pdf

With regards to accommodation, can I suggest that if you do plan to visit the Causeway Coast and Glens, that you possibly leave it to the week beginning the 18th May?  There is an annual motorbike race called the Northwest 200 which takes place in May on the North Coast and as a result accommodation in the area is very limited during this time.  This year, race day falls on Saturday 16th May so by the Monday most visitors to the area will have returned home.

If you have any further questions about any of the above, please get in touch and we will be happy to help.

I wish you an enjoyable trip!
