Travel post Covid 19

I am planning to visit Eire from 6th September 2020, by ferry from Holyhead. We hope to visit the west coast for golf and scenery. The governments Phase 5 Road Map states most of the restrictions in place would be lifted and, hopefully, life will be back to some kind of normality. My simple question is: Should I book my ferry, accommodation and golf now, or wait for a little longer?

Hi Stephen,

I completely understand that you are wanting more information regarding this difficult situation and wish that there was a satisfactory answer to provide regarding what travel may look like in September. Unfortunately, new information is coming out every day and I'm not able to give you those answers confidently at this time.

What I would suggest, instead, is reaching out to accommodations providers concerning what options you may have moving forward. I'd also keep a close eye on government websites, which have up-to-date information concerning what travel may look like. Finally, the Traveller Health Page is also an incredible resource that I hope you find helpful. It has a number of links to official websites and other sources of information.

I'm very sorry that I couldn't give a more solid answer. While Ireland is taking steps to move towards reopening the future is still unclear. That said, do know that we all hope to welcome you one day in the future. Until that day comes, I do hope that this community helps to bridge the gap and makes Ireland feel just a little closer.
