Greetings, me and my fiance are traveling to Ireland in November, and are a little confused on the entry requirements. We will be there for six days, do we need to have 10,000 euros for our requirement to enter the country?

The travel page makes it very confusing and only mentions bringing money one time.

Hi Zachary,

Congrats to you and your fiance!

We can totally see how one could be confused about the 10,000 euros cash.  What that's referring to is if you have MORE than that amount, coming in or out of the EU, then it needs to be declared and to be proven not from criminal activity - not that you must have that much with you when you travel.  We hope this clears things up a bit.

As you're hoping to visit in November, it's really important that you keep apprised of travel regulations and guidelines, as things are changing so quickly, and often.  Currently, visitors from the US are asked to restrict their movements for 14 days upon arrival.

Keep an eye on the government page and be sure to check with your travel agent and/or airline.

Best wishes to you!
