Hi, during our first trip to Ireland we made a short stop in Cork and there enjoyed (and shopped) in the English Market. Next year our first stop will be in Galway. Is there a similar market hall in Galway as there is in Cork? Thanks for your feedback, Martina

Hey Martina,
It's great to hear that you enjoyed visiting the English Market when in Cork City; it really is a must-see place when in Cork.
I would happily recommend the Galway Market, which is located in Church Lane in Galway City. It's open on Saturdays and Sundays and has been a feature of the city for hundreds of years. It's definitely one to check out!
Galway is renowned for its locally-produced foods, which you'll experience for yourself at the Galway Market. On top of that, there's always a wonderful array of arts and crafts on show. There's a vibrant atmosphere too which makes visiting all the more enjoyable.
I hope this information is helpful to you, Martina!
Warm regards, Eoin

Hi Eoin, oh dear I just realized that you said Galway Market is open Saturday and Sunday, means we won't be able to go there as we'll be in Galway either Tuesday or Wednesday. Is there any way to get a city map showing mainly the part of town where long walk, spanish arches etc. are? That would help me with my planning. Thanks again, Martina

Hi Martina, The Galway Market is indeed only open during the weekend, but luckily there is still lots to see and do in the city during the week. The Spiddal Craft Village and Café is open all week and might be a nice alternative. Is there anything, in particular, you're interested in? I'm always happy to provide you with more tips and suggestions. :) There are markets all over the island, so if you're visiting any other places, we can take a look at what's on during those times as well! Happy planning! Melin
