Whether you need a visa to visit Ireland depends on your citizenship, and Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has a
full list of countries whose citizens do not need a visa.
The airline or ferry company you're travelling with will be able to tell you what form of ID is they require, so make sure to check with them as well. :)
