Good afternoon,

I and my boyfriend are planning to visit Dublin from 18th July to 22nd July. We should land in the evening and we did not know that from 19th July we do not need to be in quarantine if our PCR test is negative. Do you think that we would need to be in quarantine if we arrive few hours before this restriction will end? We really do not know what to do, because we were already excited about our trip...
Does anybody know whether this might be alright or not?

Thank you very much!

Kind regards,

Tyna

Hi Tyna,

As you have mentioned, the guidelines requiring a negative PCR test and not having to quarantine change on the 19th of July. As you are arriving on the 18th, the current guidelines will apply, so yes, you would have to self-isolate. The guidelines are not specific enough to suggest that you can then come out of isolation the next day, we would suggest that you contact the local Embassy for clarification.

Where are you coming from prior to landing in Dublin as there may still be rules and guidelines based on the country you are travelling from even after the 19th?

We hope this helps,

Martin

Thank you for the answer, Martin!
We have found out that it might be possible to stay for 2 hours at the airport, cause we are supposed to land at 10 pm, so we could wait at the "transit", before passport control. In that situation, we could be exempt from quarantine, right? If we come there at midnight on 19th July? :)
Also, we are coming from the Czech Republic, so we are pretty safe with that.

Tyna
