Hi! I am a trip organizer and I planned to have a group tour in Ireland starting with 19th July. The date which was announced as international travel opening. I made flights and hotel reservations, but now I'm very worried because it seams that the date of 19th July could not be sure for cancel the quarantine at arrival. All of us have the European Digital Certificate for COVID19, but we don't know if that help to able to travel. I read and I follow a lot of news websites, but I didn't find a clear answer about 19th July. Could somebody help me with an information or an advice? Thank you in advance!

Hello Cindea,

There are many changes to the current situation planned for the months ahead.

We encourage you to keep an eye on our Traveller health page for news and updates, as well as links to other resources for the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. July 19th is the next important date for planned changes to international travel guidance, information can be found on our page with links to official pages too.

If you are travelling from within the EU, the Digital Covid Certificate (DCC) allows you to enter without an additional negative PCR test and the need to self-isolate.

To protect its citizens against the importation of variants, an ‘emergency brake’ mechanism will be coordinated at EU level, to react swiftly to the emergence of a variant of concern or variant of interest. Government advice will be to avoid travel to/from a country where the ‘emergency brake’ has been applied. If this is not applied from the country you are travelling from then you are okay to enter with just the DCC.

We hope this helps explain the guidance.
