I have a ferry booked for a weeks holiday, travelling from England on 18th August (booking transferred from 2020). I have read the advise on Ireland.com but am unclear of my situation. I will be travelling with my husband and my 13 year old son (and our dog). My husband and I are double vaccinated, my son hasn’t had a vaccine due to his age.
Can anyone clarify the situation - I would be most grateful. Thank-you

Hello Michelle,

It's good to hear that you are planning a trip to Ireland. The situation is continuing to evolve and I would recommend keeping an eye on the official channels, including the Traveller Health page.

Generally, assuming that the so-called 'emergency brake' has not been applied to travel from the UK, then fully vaccinated persons arriving into Ireland from the UK from 19 July onwards will not be required to home quarantine or to provide a negative RT-PCR test result. Persons who do not have a certificate to prove they are fully vaccinated will be required to present evidence of a negative PCR test result within 72 hours prior to arrival in Ireland and to self-quarantine afterward.

You can learn more about Ireland's COVID-19 resilience and recovery plans here. I hope that this information will prove helpful to you.

Regards,
Eoin
