Hallo Jana,
Thank you for reaching out! 😊
You are right, the
current government advice is still to avoid non-essential travel, but this will change from 19 July. From this date, Ireland will operate the EU Digital COVID Certificate (DCC) for travel originating within the EU/EEA. This means that,
unless your journey originates in a country to which the EU has applied an ‘
Emergency Brake’, no travel-related testing or quarantine will be necessary. This is provided that you hold valid proof of your vaccination, which, as you say, you will have with your DCC.
Remember to also complete the
Passenger Locator Form before arriving in Ireland.
Please keep in mind that all government regulations will always be subject to the prevailing public health situation at the time, and therefore, may have to be adjusted. This is why we recommend for you to book flights and accommodation with flexible cancellation policies where possible.
We encourage you to stay up to date with our
traveller health page and by following the links on this page to the governments’ most recent guidelines. We look forward to welcoming you on our island! 💚
Viele liebe Grüße von der grünen Insel! ☘️
Rebecca
