Does anyone know companies who offer combined walking/cycling trips on all/part of the Wild Atlantic Way? If not, what is the best way for me to plan such a trip?
Thanks
Gordon

Hi Gordon,

It's great that you are considering a combined hiking and cycling trip along the Wild Atlantic Way. 😊

There are a few cycling/outdoors tour companies that might suit your needs such as Green Marble Cycle Tours in Co. Sligo, Walking Holiday Ireland or Hillwalk Tours for instance. The company Extreme Ireland seems to combine walking and cycling tours.

Alternatively, you can plan your own itinerary using the Sports Ireland website, which features many cycling paths and walking trails.
We also have pages about cycling and hiking you might find useful.

Are you looking to discover an area of the Wild Atlantic Way in particular?

Cheers,
Antoine

Hi Antoine
Nowhere in particular. I'd like to do the whole thing, though probably not in one go.
Cheers

That would be an excellent idea for a cycling trip, maybe Malin to Mizen, one end to the other! 😉

As Antoine mentioned, if the location isn't an issue as to where to start, perhaps the tour operators would be able to suggest the best sections or start point. They would be able to provide the bike and luggage transport between accommodation stops as well as backup support along the way.

Where would you be heading into to start your time with us? This may have a bearing on your start and finish point too.

Hi MArtin
Thanks for this. I'd be coming from London and am agnostic as to where fly/drive/train to. Could be Dublin, Belfast, Derry, Galway fro example

Hi Gordon,

There aren't any wrong answers on that list!

Each of those spots has absolutely beautiful areas to explore and paths to hike and cycle along. I could ramble for hours about possible routes to take for each of these options, though it might be worth narrowing things down just a bit first.

Would you like to share a bit about what your perfect cycling trip might look like? For example, would you like to explore a mountain trail, or prefer to stop by the beach to cool off a bit? Depending on the kind of experience you're looking for, one of our amazing members might just be able to point you towards a path you'd love to travel.

Kindly,
Rochelle
