Good morning,
I am Stefania. I am planning a trip in Ireland for me and my family for Christmas holidays.
My husband, my oldest boy and I are fully vaccinated, but my youngest boy, eleven years old, is not vaccinated.
I read Irish rules on the Government web site, but there isn't a mention about children under 12 (only about the quarantine).
Is the PCR test necessary for them?
Thank you for answering.

Ciao Stefania!

It's a pleasure knowing that you and your family would like to spend Christmas on the Emerald Isle. 🤗
The Christmas period is very special here on the island. 🎄

Regarding your question, on the government website page, there is a section about traveling to Ireland with children that states "Children between the ages of 12 and 17 will be required to have a negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival to travel into the country, unless they have valid proof of vaccination or recovery."

That means that your child won't need any proof to enter the Republic of Ireland.
Please, have a look at our Travelers' Health page to make sure you have all the information needed to enter the island. Don't forget to fill the Passenger Locator Form. 👌

You might find useful this post on Christmas markets, a lovely way to find nice crafty work from local artists; and great souvenir to take with you back home. 😉

Keep us posted!

Marcella
