My JACKSON family sailed from Ireland via Scotland on the HERALD in 1841. Joseph and Mary Jackson (Lonsdale) arrived in Sydney Australia with three of their children (A fourth died on the trip), It would be so interesting to know how the Irish Jacksons are going if they are still in the Armagh area. From what I can find out the Australian families have very strong family values.

Hi there, Philip!

It's great to hear that you are interested in your Jackson family heritage. ☘️

From John Grenham's website, there are lots of Jackson's all over Ireland with Armagh being the most concentrated! You can also have a look at the House of Names website where you will see the Jackson family crest and more information about their migration to Australia.

Hopefully our members will be able to give you some more information too!

Best,
Aimee

Hello Philip

I see that the database of Armagh Ancestry, http://armagh.rootsireland.ie/ , contains one birth entry, prior to 1841, of a child born to parents Joseph and Mary Jackson, namely Mary Jackson in 1833. If you feel this is a match to your family you should consider check this entry out.
