Ireland health service for UE citizens

Hello community!
My partner and I are planning to move, in a few years,  to Ireland for at least six months a year. The first real hurdle to overcome is  understanding how the Irish health service works for Italian citizens. I would like to ask for help and suggestions to be able to live in quietness in a country that, like Italy, is part of the EU, but is still a country of which we are not its citizens.
