Hello all!
We are visiting Dublin next month during St. Patrick's Day week for three days (also spending a few days in Belfast).
I see that there is a Dublin Pass and am wondering people's opinions on buy this.  We bought a similar pass for Hawaii and made good use of it.  Has anyone had experience with the Dublin Pass, good or bad?
Thank you!
Cathy S.

Hello Cathy,

It's great that you are coming over next month for St Patrick's Day! The Dublin Pass would be worth it for you if you plan on visiting many attractions. Please note that there will already be events for St Patrick's Day (such as the parade)

Alternatively, you can have a look at the Leap Visitor Card if you only plan to use public transport and visit a few attractions.

Are there specific places in Dublin you'd like to see and make use of the pass for?

Cheers,
Antoine

Thank you for your reply!  We will want to visit as many sites as possible during our short stay.  Will things be closed due to St Patty's day holiday?  Or do attractions such as Guiness, hop on bus, Trinity, etc stay open?  Also, is there a discount code you can recommend if we do buy the Dublin Pass?

I am also wondering if you can answer a question on Covid requirements.  I am fully vax but my last shot was over 270 days ago.  Will I be denied entry into Ireland?  It looks like this is a new requirement and I am worried it will effect my travel.  Thanks!

Hi Cathy,

Thanks for getting back.

In terms of St Patricks Day: Guinness Storehouse remains open and Trinity is open from 12.00 - 16.30. The hop-on-hop-off bus tour service may be subject to public holidays or local events that involve road closures, like St. Patrick's Day and Christmas Day. You can look out for updates on their service page

Covid:
From 1 February 2022: Vaccine certificates for the primary vaccination series will not be accepted for travel if more than 270 days have passed since the final dose in the primary vaccine series vaccine certificates based on booster/additional doses are not time-limited

Essentially you need "an accepted proof of vaccine" which now requires a booster if your first vaccination series began more than 270 days ago. If your vaccine is 9 months old, and you now have a booster, you're good to go.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Many thanks,
Cathaoir

I recently had the opportunity to purchase the Dublin Pass for a group of five during our trip to Ireland, and I wanted to share my thoughts on the experience. The Dublin Pass offered us incredible value and convenience, allowing us to visit multiple attractions and skip the lines, which was especially beneficial for our large group. Not only did it save us money compared to buying individual tickets, but it also helped us make the most of our time in Dublin by providing access to a wide range of attractions, tours, and activities. Overall, I highly recommend the Dublin Pass for anyone traveling with a group, as it offers a hassle-free way to explore the city's top attractions.
