Hello Pam and Mike,

It's so good to hear that you're planning a visit to our shores! It'd be a pleasure to help you find more fun to be had while here.

And there's plenty of fun in May, too! If you're a fan of Irish culture and music, then the Galway Early Music Festival might be a perfect addition to your trip. It's held in Galway between the 27th and 29th of May.

Depending on when you stop by, you might be just in time for the International North West 200, a famous bike show and race in Northern Ireland. This is a bit out of the way and takes place between the 8th and the 14th, but thought it was worth a mention.

Regarding food, there's no shortage of wonderful restaurants to visit in Galway! In fact, there's an article right on our website all about Galway's incredible seafood. While you won't be in time for the Galway International Oyster and Seafood Festival, which takes place in September, there are amazing venues open year-round. There's even a link on the article to a list of amazing seafood locations along Galway's coast, where you can sample the best and freshest fish and shellfish available.

I'd also recommend these articles, which feature some of Ireland's best food stops and a list of famous pubs where you can enjoy some hearty and traditional Irish food.

I do hope this helps! If you need any more advice, please feel free to stop by again. I'd love to chat more and hear about what spots you're adding to your itinerary.

Kindly,
Rochelle
