😲

Tell me Joe, what would you say to someone who never played before but might be tempted to give it a try while in Ireland?

That's a great question Elodie!

Golf is a very technical sport. Like Skiing. You would never dream of going to the top of a black ski slope and trying out skiing for the first time! :D Likewise, you shouldn't tee it up at Royal County Down having never hit a golf shot before!

So, the best place to start is a lesson with a PGA pro to get the basics of the game. Almost every golf club in Ireland has at least 1 PGA pro attached to the club, so there's lots of choice.

Another way to test whether golf is for you is to try the new K World golf simulator experience at the world famous Ryder Cup venue the K Club, just outside Dublin. We visited K World just before Christmas to see the set up - see the video here. K World is very impressive and Head Professional Gary Murphy is a great teacher.

And of course if you book a trip with G Golf Ireland, you'll have the option of a G Golf Ambassador to assist you on and off the course - video here on the role of our G Golf Ambassadors:)

There are lots of ways to try out golf in Ireland, so just give it a go and most importantly - Enjoy!

“I love Ballybunion. It’s perfectly Irish: beautiful, rough, and a lot like life — you get breaks you don’t deserve, both ways. You just have to keep swinging and know it will all even out.”~ Bill Clinton
