Hi Everyone:  Our party of 9 are so excited to be coming March 26th until April 3rd.  A question some of us have is:  We would like to go to the Aran Isles but aren't interested in a 8-10 hour tour.  Can we just go directly to the ferry on our own?  Do we need to purchase tickets ahead of time?

Thank you

Hi Debbie,

It is great to hear you are coming to Ireland!

You can indeed purchase tickets to the Aran Islands without booking a tour. Ferries depart from Rossaveel (around 23 miles of Galway) and you can take a shuttle bus if you don't have transportation from Galway. You can find the timetables for the ferry here.

Wishing you a great trip,

David.

How exciting, Debbie!

Alternatively, you can also take the ferry from Doolin if you'd like to see the Cliffs of Moher for instance.

How would you like to spend your time on the Aran Islands? Please let us know if you need tips. 😊

Antoine
