Hi there
I am hoping you could advise me I have clients that will be touring Ireland for 7 days later this month. They are wanting to travel the whole of Ireland from Dublin South and then eventually go to Northern Ireland and back to Dublin. Please suggest which cities they should stay over in as their time is limited?

Thanks so much
Leanne

Hi Leanne,

It's good to hear that you have clients who are coming to Ireland soon. A trip around the whole island sounds like fun!

On the Ireland.com website, there is a very useful All Around Ireland trip idea, which starts and ends in Dublin. It's a 12-day trip but it can be tailored to meet your clients' own timeframe. It may be a useful trip idea to work from.

This tour, which is self-drive, travels through Dublin CIty, Kilkenny City, Waterford City, Cobh, Cork City, Kinsale, the Ring of Kerry, Loop Head, Galway City, Connemara, Achill Island, Mullaghmore, Slieve League, Derry-Londonderry City, Belfast City, Castle Ward, Carlingford, Bru na Boinne, the Irish National Stud in County Kildare, and many other places.

You and your clients can pick and choose the places that they would like to see from this list. Any of these places are suitable for spending one or more nights.

I hope this information is helpful.

Regards,
Eoin

Hi Leanne

It's great to hear that you have clients that will be touring Ireland soon! Eoin has provided some excellent suggestions in the above post for your trip. In relation to staying in cities throughout Ireland, we are the official visitor information centre for Ireland's only completely intact historic Walled City, Derry-Londondonderry.

The city provides the perfect base as we are located where the Wild Atlantic Way meets the Causeway Coastal Route. I assume that you will be travelling throughout these regions as these provide some of the most breathtaking views along the island. The city is the home of the 17th Century City Walls, the Derry Girls, award-winning museums and some of the greatest outdoor festivals in the world! With world-class visitor experiences on our doorstep, and a cosmopolitan vibe all year round, there’s so much to do in our compact, walkable city. The city also boasts an impressive array of eateries and accommodation, further highlighting our suitability as a perfect base for exploring the nearby regions towards the coastlines.

For more information on what the city has to offer, please visit our website:

Hi Leanne,

We would love to welcome your clients to the Causeway Coast and Glens.

The Visit Derry team already made reference to the Causeway Coastal Route that stretches from Derry/Londonderry to Belfast.  There is much to see and do along the route, including the Giant's Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  There are Game of Thrones film locations, ancient castles, the world's oldest, licenced Whiskey Distillery, traditional music tours, beautiful scenery and friendly locals.

If they would like to find out more about the Causeway Coast and Glens region, please direct them to our web site: https://www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com

Best regards,
Anne
