Hello Sheila,

It's wonderful to hear that you and your companions are planning a visit to our shores!

It sounds like you have a fun adventure ahead of you and I'd be more than happy to help offer a few options to make your adventure a little easier. Hiring a private driver is certainly a wonderful option for exploring our island. In addition, there's also a robust system of public transportation which may be of use to you as well.

You'll find many great options for private chauffeurs and guided tours in Ireland on our website. I would recommend reaching out to these companies directly for more information about their specific services and availability.

In addition, I've also collected a few helpful threads about hiring a chauffeur or private driver for you below:

- Private Driver
- Personal driver

When visiting rural places a car is usually an easy way to get to your destination. Where are you thinking of staying? A bus or taxi can bring you to and from your accommodation to nearby restaurants or shops as well.

I hope some of our members, locals and experts will be able to provide you with more tips and information, and please don't hesitate to reach out if there is anything else you need.

Warmly,
Rochelle

Thank you for your suggestions. We are going to a wedding in Cashel and need transportation from the airport to the wedding venue. We will be there for 4 days and won't need a car while we are there. We then would need transportation from Cashel to Bantry, Cork where we have rented a house.

Hi Sheila,

Thanks for getting back to us with some more information about your trip!

There are a few options that may sort out your needs. Shannon Airport has an airport taxis page on their website, definitely worth a look to solve your first transport need. It is just over an hour's drive, please check with them for availability and price for you all.

Cashel to Bantry is just under 2 hours so a little farther, you will be best to try one of the chauffeur/private driver companies. There is one called Devitt's in Cashel but there might be others.

We have also replied to your email, so hopefully, we have your needs covered! :)

Curious as to why you are taking golf clubs to a wedding though! 😉

Martin
