Hi. We are a family and need a cheap flat to let. At this point, it does not matter where. Whenever I ask this, people suggest places for 10,000 quid a month. That is hardly cheap for us. Cheap. I mean something more like 100 quid a month. Any idea helps. Thanks for being great craic!

Hello Randall,

Thank you for reaching out with this question!

To clarify, are you looking for accommodations for a trip to our little island, or are you looking for housing options for a family? If it's the latter, then I would recommend taking a look at the Citizens Information page, where you can find loads of useful information about moving to Ireland, with everything from housing to residence rights. You can also get in touch with them directly for additional help and advice.

If you are looking for accommodations for a visit, I'd recommend taking a peek at our Accommodations Finder. It's a wonderful tool for finding a place to stay while here on our island. I've taken a peek at different accommodation options and while I can't find a location within your desired price range, there are some spots offering more affordable options. These options include Gogarty’s International Hostel, which offers rooms from €12 per person. Likewise, Castle Hostel offers similar pricing, depending on your room choices.

I'd recommend taking a peek at these options to see if anywhere meets your needs.

I hope this helps!

Hi thanks for your reply. The first link looks very helpful. But that other one is 12 quid per NIGHT per PERSON. That is way too expensive. The other link looks like hotels for millionaires. It even says "luxury". I've been to Ireland. Never seen stuff that fancy. They Irish, as I suppose you know, are not very wealthy.

Hi Randall,

Are you looking for a monthly rental for the long term or just for holiday reasons?

Those options above are rarely for a long-term stay, know also that some may offer a better rate for a stay of a month or more, so make sure to contact them directly.

Well I did say monthly...

I doubt any of those places would offer their daily rate as a monthly rate.

Seems as though this forum is mostly advertisements. Does anyone know any real forum for advice?

Hey Randall,

This forum is for tourist information and advice.

As you are looking for long-term rent, maybe "renting a home in Ireland" on the Citizen information website will have more to offer you.

Good luck with your search.
