My flight arrives at 11.00 4th June and I need to use public transport to get to Glendalogh, then return on Saturday for 15.35 flight.
I can see there are buses to Booterstown but only two buses a day from there to Glendalough.
Any suggestions please, greatly received.

Hi Gerard!

Thanks for contacting us. 😊
We are happy to have you soon on the Emerald Isle!

We can confirm that the bus operates twice a day.
From Dublin the bus leaves at 11:45 am and 6:15 pm.
While from Glendalough the bus leaves at 7:00 am and 4:30 pm.

You can consider a taxi as a faster alternative.
We know that the costs are not the same as a bus, but for once it could be the easiest solution!

Otherwise you could get to Wicklow first, but you would double the trip's time and there are 3 or 4 busses a day to and from Glendalough.

We hope that you will be able to find the right compromise.
For any other questions, we are here.

See you soon! ☘️

Thanks Elisa, is that 11.45 bus from Dublin Airport to Glendalough with no need to change? If so am I able to book a ticket in advance?
I Believe there is a Bus 740 from the airport to Wicklow then change there for 183 to Glendalough but as you say, it adds not just extra time to journey but over an hour wait at Wicklow. Anyway it's an adventure!

Hi Gerard!

There are no buses that go directly from Dublin Airport to Glendalough. So both taking a bus to Wicklow (740) or to Booterstown (700) and from there to Glendalough (183 if you chose Wicklow or 181 if you chose Booterstown) are the possible journeys to get you there.  Alternatively, you can head from the airport to St. Stephen's Green, where the bus 181 starts its journey. You can plan your trip, with detailed timetables on Rome2Rio and the St. Kevin's Bus Services website. Unfortunately, the tickets for this bus can only be bought on the bus.

I hope you have an amazing trip.

David
