Had the chance to pop down to Maynooth the other weekend and on the way home stopped to see
Trim Castle. 🏰
It is famous for being the castle in the film Braveheart and well worth a visit while in the area. It is free to wander the grounds and if you fancy a tour around the castle keep, these are available for a small fee.
As it was lunchtime, I took the advantage and had some freshly cooked chips from Castle Takeaway just across from the Castle, delicious freshly made, just what I needed!

Trim Castle Hotel is just across from the Castle too, handy if you wish to stay in the town!
