Hello,

Since we will do some hiking with tentcamping starting form Galway, we are looking for a save locker/storage place for the stack of items we will not need on that particular day or multidaytrip (like eg. part of our clothes, some camping gear when we will stay at a hostel, etc.).

Anybody some good suggestion to store luggage in Galway?

Kind regards!

Dag Wouter,

It's great that you are planning to hike in Co. Galway!

There are a few luggage storage facilities options in Galway City : around the coach station on Eyre Square (such as this one) and in the city center. Another option would be to use the lockers from the bus station.

I hope this helps, where are you planning on hiking for a few days? Connemara National Park allows to camp in the wilderness (in some areas).

Groet,
Antoine

Thanks for the inside info. We will do Canal Bridge to Letterfrack accross the center of the parc and we will come back via Omey Island and Clifden to return to Galway.

Dag Wouter,

That sounds like a lovely hiking itinerary! Connemara is a great destination for nature walks in a truly unique landscape and the loop you have planned will take you to some interesting sites such as Kylemore Abbey.

There are some useful resources you might like for planning future hikes or other outdoor activities around Ireland, for instance the Sport Ireland website where you can find trails for hiking, cycling, horse riding and even kayaking!

I hope you'll have a wonderful hike. Please feel free to share your experiences of the trip, or let us know if there is anything else you'd like to know about the area.

Kind regards,

Vera
