Hi My husband and me are planning to visit Ireland mid of September for a full 13 day visit excluding travel days. We have come with the following driving plan and wanted to know whether its doable or too ambitious. Please suggest any changes or additions. This will be our once in a lifetime kind a visit so want it to be perfect.

Day 4 drive to Rock of Cashel, Cahir castle, visit Cobh and take ferry towards Kinsale and stay in Kinsale.
Day 5 drive to Killarney and explore the park and than stay in Kenmare.
Day 6 do the ROK and stay the night in Dingle and the next day 7 do the Slea head loop and stay in Listowel.
Day 8 take the ferry from Tarbert and drive to Doolin. Take a the Inis Oirr and Cliffs cruise and than explore Doolin town.
Day 9 Drive and spend the day and night in Galway
Day 10 Drive through Connemara to Westport and stay there
Day 11 Drive Westport to London Derry and stay there
Day 12 Drive to Bushmills and explore the giant cause way and Dunluce castle and drive to Belfast.

Hello Geeta,

Thanks for the look at your itinerary for your upcoming time with us, it is certainly a full one!

While it is indeed doable, please keep in mind that although the distances may not be great between each location most of our roads are regional roads and carry all of our traffic with a fair few tractors, cyclists, and other vehicles so travel times may be greater than you estimate. Rome2Rio is a great website to plan your journey between locations with times and distances plotted for you Also, there is plenty to see as you drive so you may find yourself stopping quite often too! 📷

We have plenty of helpful information on our website for Counties Kilkenny, Tipperary, Kerry, Clare, and Galway, please feel free to have a look there for some details on what you will find to see and do.

The Tarbert-Killimer ferry is a great way to reduce the drive time to get from County Kerry to County Clare and a lovely drive up to Doolin to get another boat trip to the Aran Islands.

Connemara has plenty to see and do as you make your way up to Westport, having been there recently, you will not be disappointed. From Westport through Sligo, the smallest bit of Leitrim on the way through County Donegal, as you head to Derry~Londonderry, again plenty to see as you drive, lots of opportunities to stop before reaching the walled city.

The final part of your time with us in Northern Ireland and along the Causeway Coast is a fabulous conclusion to your trip.

September is a lovely time to visit with everything still open and a little quieter as the schools have returned.

I hope this helps, maybe your fellow members will be able to help too!

Martin
