Towing caravan up the west coast

I'm thinking of planning a 2 week golfing trip up the west coast of Ireland next year. Its it possible to travel from the south all the way up the west coast to the north whilst towing a caravan? I'm not familiar with the roads in Ireland but suspect it would be difficult in places? I was curious if anyone had already made this trip?
