Traveling with medication

I will be coming to Ireland and I take several pills that come in large bottles.  The meds are directly requested over the counter and prescribed meds.  Do I have to have them in the original bottles or can I bring just enough for the trip in a separate container.

According to our best advice, prescription pills should be carried in their original, labeled containers with a prescription or doctor's letter. It is possible that if you speak with your doctor or pharmacy regarding your upcoming trip, they may offer either the doctor's note or a smaller prescription pill container for this visit, to make it easier to carry along.
