Hello everyone, we are French and Japanese married couple looking for an accommodation for a long term in anywhere in Ireland urgently.
Our budget is approximately €1000 per month including bills.
I am French and now in Ireland and trying finding a place to live and work at. Meaning I am currently unemployed but I am also an experienced barman/waiter who has worked in a customer service industry for more than decade so I have no doubt to get one very soon. As for my Japanese wife, she has worked as a waitress/career so it is not going to hard to find one too.
We have no preference of types of an accommodation. Studio, apartment, shared house, or an entire house. However we have two rats as pet so a pet-friendly environment would be great. Rats are not smelly, dirty or noisy as dogs or cats in general.
We both are sociable, polite, and know how to live in a shared house. In addition we have no problem on speaking in English at all.
Thank you.

Hi Nozomi,

It's great to hear you are moving to Ireland!

Are you using real estate websites such as Daft.ie? It's the best way to find long-term accommodation in Ireland. You can even add personalized push notifications to make sure not to miss a listing. However, if you would like to share an apartment, you should look for websites specializing in roommate matching.

Are you in Ireland at the moment? It is better if you are, as you could receive a proposition to view a place the very next day after applying.

Also, do not hesitate to join the Facebook groups of expats in Ireland. You could find some precious advice and help there, or even a flatshare proposal. I had to do this myself, and I am very grateful for the amazing people I met!

J'espère avoir pu vous aider !

Bonne chance !

Marine.

Thank you so much for the helpful tips! I haven't started using Daft.ie yet, but I’ll definitely give it a try. The roommate matching websites sound like a good idea too—I’ll look into those.I’m not in Ireland just yet, but I’ll be moving soon, so your advice about being there in person for viewings makes a lot of sense. I’ll also check out the Facebook expat groups. It’s great to know people there are so supportive.
