Hi all! We are a group of 15 to 20 active Californians excited to be planning a trip to Ireland next June. We will have cars and will be touring for a week or two in smaller groups. But we all want a spend a week together in a rental place, ideally in or walking distance to a small town or village with great day trip hiking, biking or even kayaking possibilities. Thinking of the West Coast on the Wild Atlantic Way.
Any suggestions for towns/ villages that fit the bill would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi Steve,

It's great to hear that you are planning a visit to Ireland next year. There are many good options in terms of towns along the Wild Atlantic Way.

Some towns and villages that I recommend you check out include:

- Doolin
- Westport
- Clifden
- Dingle
- Eyeries

You can learn more about these towns here. They should fit the bill in terms of activities and accommodation for your group.

I hope this information will be helpful to you.

Regards,
Eoin

Hello Steve,

I agree with Eoin above, any towns along the Wild Atlantic Way. You could fly into Cork or Shannon airports, so much easier and efficient than Dublin, and plan your route from there.

A few suggestions
Cork to Kinsale
Base yourselves in Kinsale as there is so much to do, Sailing, horse-riding, canoeing, pottery, arts, hiking, surfing  and it is the Gourmet Capitol of Ireland ..which basically means great food
You can do day trips to West Cork from Kinsale
Kinsale - Kenmare Kerry
Dingle, Kerry
Galway -Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher, Kylemore Abbey, great eating in Galway if you go nowhere else

Happy to help out if you need any more suggestions
Frances
